“It’s Comeback Time!”

Micah 7:8 says, “Do not rejoice over me, my enemy; when I fall, I will arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord will be a light to me.”

I love this Scripture! To me it is the ultimate comeback. A few years ago, I was reading about a boxer who had a comeback story. No one thought he would win, but he did. In the article, he said a couple things that have stuck with me through the years. He said…

• A true champion knows how to adjust.

• A true champion always finds a way to come back.

Over the past several months, many of my friends have been under spiritual and even physical attack. I believe it is time to hear a few comeback stories! I believe God is declaring, “It’s comeback time!” over many people in the Body of Christ.

I believe we are about to hear comeback stories from those individuals whom people may have said, “They will never make it. I knew they couldn’t do it. They don’t have what it takes to pull through.” The naysayers will be wrong. Never count a man or woman out who has a heart to finish the race.

Perhaps this is the first question we need to ask ourselves: Is our heart in it? Whatever you are standing in faith for, is your heart in it? Is it something you wish for, or is it something you are standing in faith for? There is a huge difference. The difference is the heart. With the heart the man believes. We must believe God will do what He says He will do. Like Abraham, we must be fully persuaded.

A True Champion Knows How to Adjust

Philippians 4:11 says, “Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content.”

If I have learned anything in the last year it is this: how to be content. Contentment comes when we learn to adjust—adjust to changes and situations that we wish we could change. First, we must adjust our thinking. Once our thinking is adjusted, we can then adjust our words. It will take time and discipline, but we can learn to adjust and remain in the peace of God at all times. You can’t allow every situation or change to move you. Remain steadfast and immovable. Stand on the Word of God without wavering. Learn to adjust.

A True Champion Always Finds a Way to Come Back

There are some people you can’t keep down. King David was one of those. Numerous times, people sought to kill him. He had his entire family taken from him. His wife turned against him. His life was not an easy life, but the enemy could not keep him down. Each time something came against him the Bible says, “He sought the Lord.” Each time he sought the Lord, the Lord gave him a way to come back. He gave him instruction and as David followed the leading of the Lord, he recovered all.

Jesus Christ, however, is the ultimate comeback story! He was definitely counted out. He took His last breath in front of the crowd that day, nailed to a Cross. He was tortured and humiliated; He was buried and sealed in a tomb…but He came back—and He came back with power!

Is this word for you today? Will you be a comeback story? Will you come back with power? It may have looked like you were out for the count, but you are not. It may look over, but it is not over until God says it is over. God has made us a promise; we will come out victorious! When we believe this truth in our hearts, nothing can stop it.

Shut the Mouth of the Enemy

It’s time to shut the mouth of the enemy. There is nothing that shuts the mouth of the enemy like seeing God’s people come through the fire without the smell of smoke!

Isaiah 43:1-3 says, “…’Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior…'”

Glory be to God! We have a promise, my friend. It is comeback time!
